Let’s be honest, nail biting is not a life threatening problem but it can lead you to feel less confident or even embarrassed when other people look at your hands and see chewed down, stubby nails. These days there is much more focus on well- groomed hands because of the rise in availability of nail bar manicures.
Not only can it look rather unattractive but it is also often an indicator that the person in question has a nervous disposition which may not be the right message you want to send to a future employer or a new partner, for example.
It could be that nail-biting is a habit that you started when you were younger and you don’t even notice when you do it now. Or it could be that you only bite your nails when you feel anxious or worried about something.
